Pierce and Gamble Earn All-MAC Honors Pierce named to All-MAC First Team; Gamble named honorable mention
Pierce is only the second UB player to be named to the All-MAC First Team. Turner Battle earned first-team honors in 2005. The junior guard had a breakout season for the Bulls. He led UB and ranked eighth in the MAC in scoring - averaging 14.7 points per game. He ranked second on the team in assists (2.2 apg) and third in rebounding (3.8 rpg). Twice during the season he earned MAC Player of the Week honors.
Pierce and Gamble helped lead the Bulls to their first Mid-American Conference regular season title. The Bulls shared the crown with Bowling Green. Buffalo finished the regular season 19-10 and 11-5 in the MAC. The Bulls earned the third seed and a first-round bye in the upcoming MAC Tournament. They will play the winner of the Kent State/Northern Illinois game on Thursday at 2:30 pm at Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena.
