BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo men’s basketball players Calvin Cage (Capitol Heights, MD/Bladensburg) and Yassin Idbihi (Tangier, Morocco/Schloss Hagerhof) were both named to the All-Mid-American Conference men’s basketball team. Cage was named to the second team while Idbihi earned honorable mention honors.

Cage had a breakout season for the Bulls. The senior guard led UB and ranked third in the MAC in scoring, averaging 18.6 points per game. His 577 points this season is the second best single-season effort in school history. He has drained 88 three-pointers - the third best single-season effort in school history. Along with being named All-MAC, Cage was one of only three Mid-American Conference players named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division I All-District First Team earlier this year. He ranks eighth in school history with 1,299 career points.

Idbihi had another solid season for the Bulls. The junior forward led the Bulls in rebounding (6.8 rpg) and ranked second in scoring (13.9 ppg). In the conference rankings, he was fifth in rebounding and eighth in scoring. Idbihi posted a career-best six double-doubles on the season. He became the ninth UB player to eclipse the 1,000-point plateau in just three seasons. Idbihi was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week on November 28 and January 30.

This is the first postseason honor from the conference for both players.

Cage and Idbihi have helped lead the Bulls to a 19-12 record and a third straight trip to Cleveland. UB will face top-seeded Kent State on Thursday night at 7:00 pm at Quicken Loans Arena.
