Turner Battle Named to Academic All-America Second Team

Battle is joined on the five-member second team by Erik Benzel of Denver, Craig Forth of Syracuse, Dan Grunfeld of Stanford and Neil Plankk of Illinois State.
The Kernersville, NC native leads the Bulls in scoring (15.6 ppg), assists (4.38 apg) and three-point shooting percentage (40.2 percent). He has helped lead the Bulls to an 18-8 record - tying the mark for most wins since returning to Division I in 1991.
A communications major, Battle sports a 3.56 grade point average. He is a two-time Academic All-MAC selection.
Battle is only the second UB student-athlete in the Division I era to be named an Academic All-American. Former football player Dan Poulsen earned the distinction in 1998.
