In addition to their work in the classroom, all four freshmen at Buffalo have made significant contributions on the court. Battle has started all 29 games at point guard for the Bulls and has averaged 7.3 points per game and 3.4 assists per game. Bird, a 6-4 shooting guard, has appeared in 23 games off the bench and is averaging 3.2 points per game and 1.1 rebounds per game. Gilbert has played in all 29 games, earning one start while averaging 2.8 points per game and 1.3 rebounds. Bortz is contributing 5.5 points per game while grabbing 3.4 rebounds per game despite being slowed by a knee injury that forced him to miss seven games.
