Buffalo looks to split season series with Akron

BUFFALO, NY - The Bulls return to Alumni Arena Thursday night as they welcome the Akron Zips in the first of two straight home games that will conclude UB's regular season schedule. Buffalo (11-17, 3-11 MAC) is looking to return the favor as the Zips won the first match-up, 66- 59 at Akron (22-6, 11-3 MAC).

Buffalo is coming off a two-game road trip in which it dropped both contests. The second of which was to Miami (OH), 80-68. Look for sophomore Andy Robinson (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady) to be aggressive for the Bulls after scoring a career-high 21 point against the RedHawks.

Also, senior Yassin Idbihi (Tangier, Morocco/Schloss Hagerhof) will fight to be a force inside after coming up one rebound shy of another double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds at Miami. Eric Moore (Dover, NJ/St. Benedict's Prep) has found his stroke once again from the outside and will hope to light up the scoreboard again versus the Zips after scoring 15 points at Akron in January.

Akron is coming off an 87-74 non-conference win against Duquesne in which it tied a school record with 10 blocked shots. Leading the way was Romeo Travis who recorded his second straight double-double with 26 points and 11 rebounds while Nick Dials scored a career-high 23 points. Cedrick Middleton and Quade Milum added 14 and 11, respectively, rounding out the four Zips in double-figures.

The Bulls will look to prevent Akron from equaling their highest season win total since becoming a Division I member in 1980. The Zips are currently at 22 wins, one shy of their total last season. Buffalo will look to again win the battle of the boards, as they out-rebounded both teams during their two-game road swing.

Tip-off is slated for 7:00 pm. The game can be heard locally on WWKB 1520 AM or online at www.buffalobulls.com. The game will also air tape delayed on Time Warner 13 on March 2 at 7:30 pm and again on March 3 at 7:00 pm. There will be a live webstream of the game available by clicking here.
