BUFFALO, NY - The Bulls head into RedHawk territory on Saturday afternoon looking for a conference sweep of Miami after a 68-51 victory in Alumni Arena in January. It would be Buffalo’s first-ever sweep of the Miami RedHawks.

Buffalo is coming off a heartbreaking loss at Kent State, in which the Bulls had two chances to tie or win the game in the final 20 seconds but could not capitalize. Miami is the team’s final conference road game of the year, before coming home to host Ohio and Akron in Alumni Arena.

Buffalo will look once again for senior and the MAC’s leading rebounder Yassin Idbihi (Tangier, Morocco/Schloss Hagerhof) to lead the way as he recorded yet another double-double in the loss to Kent State. Along with Idbihi’s 13 points and 11 rebounds, freshman Byron Mulkey (Wheatfield, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) stepped up with a career-high 21-point showcase against the Golden Flashes. Both players will look to help the Bulls defeat Miami once again.

The RedHawks pulled off a 64-62 overtime upset of division-leading Akron on Tuesday night. Miami had four players in double-figures led by Tim Pollitz with 17. Nathan Peavy, Doug Penno and Michael Bramos added 14, 12 and 11, respectively. Saturday’s match-up will be the final home game for seniors Monty St. Clair, Nathan Peavy and Doug Penno, as they will be honored before the start of the game.

The Bulls did an excellent job containing Miami as only two players scored in double figures at 13 and 11 points in the UB win last month. Idbihi led three Bulls in double figures in the last contest with 23, while Eric Moore (Dover, NJ/St. Benedict’s Prep) and Andy Robinson (Schenectady, NY, Schenectady) tacked on 16 and 11, respectively. Buffalo also managed to out-rebound the RedHawks by 11 and will look to do so again on Saturday.

Tip-off is slated for 2:30 pm, or 30 minutes following the conclusion of the Miami women’s game which tips off at noon. The game will air live on Time Warner 13 in the Buffalo area. The game can also be heard locally on WWKB 1520 AM or online at www.buffalobulls.com.
