Turner Battle Named To ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team

Senior point guard earns honor for second straight season

BUFFALO, NY – For the second straight year, Turner Battle (Kernersville, NC/East Forsyth) has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District First Team. He will now be placed on the national ballot for a chance at garnering Academic All-America honors.

This season, Battle is averaging 15.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game. He has started 23 of 24 games and has helped lead the Bulls to a 17-7 record. He has been selected as the Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week three times this season and the MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week twice this season.

A communication major, Battle sports a 3.56 grade point average, including a 4.0 during the Fall 2004 semester. Battle is a two-time member of the Academic All-MAC team.
