Andy Robinson Named MAC East Division Player of the Week
Robinson had a career game at Northern Illinois on Tuesday night. The junior guard scored a career-high 35 points on 8-of-13 shooting overall and a sizzling 8-of-10 shooting from beyond the arc. His 35 points were only two shy of the school record for points scored in a road game (37 by Mike Martinho at Troy State in 1996). His career-best eight three-pointers tied him for the third best single-game effort in school history. In the Bulls' win over Eastern Michigan, Robinson scored seven points and made an impact defensively with four steals and a pair of blocked shots. The Schenectady native has stepped up his game since the start of conference play. He is averaging a league-best 17.5 points in MAC games. Over the 10 conference games, Robinson has scored 20 or more points in a game five times. This is the first time Robinson has earned Player of the Week honors in his career. It also marks the first time this season that a UB player has won the award.
The Bulls will put their two-game winning streak on the line Wednesday night when they host Ball State at Alumni Arena.
