Bulls Hope To Keep Wins ComingBUFFALO, NY The Buffalo men's basketball team is looking to get back to the .500 mark with both its Mid-American Conference and overall records. It will have a chance to do just that at 7 pm on Wednesday, when the Eastern Michigan Eagles visit Alumni Arena.
On Monday, junior point guard Turner Battle (Kernersville, NC/East Forsyth) was named the MAC East Division Player of the Week on Monday for his efforts last week. In Buffalo's wins over Akron and Ball State, Battle averaged 23.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game. Battle - who has connected on his last nine three-point attempts - remains UB's scoring leader, averaging 14.2 points per game. The only other Buffalo player averaging in double figures is freshman center Yassin Idbihi (Tangier, Morocco/Schloss Hagerhof) at 10.6 points per contest. Also, Idbihi's 6.3 rebounds per game are a team best.
Sophomore center John Bowler leads Eastern Michigan with averages of 13.7 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. The Eagles hold the all-time series edge with a 5-3 mark against UB. The two schools split
last season's series, with each squad winning at home. Buffalo dominated a February meeting at
Alumni Arena, coming away with a 90-66 victory. |
