CLEVELAND, OH Turner Battle (Kernersville, NC/East Forsyth) was named the Mid-American Conference Scholar Athlete of the Week on Feb. 3. It is the second honor of the week for the junior point guard, who was also named the MAC Player of the Week on Monday. Last week, Battle averaged 23.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals in wins over Akron and Ball State.

In the Bulls' 89-83 win over Akron, Battle tallied a career-high 26 points, including a career-best four three-pointers. He followed with a 20-point, nine-rebound performance in the Bulls' 84-75 win over Ball State.

This is the second time Battle has been named the MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week. The Kernersville, NC native also won the award last season.

A communication major, Battle sports a 3.47 grade point average. He was the only player in the conference to be named to both the All-MAC and Academic All-MAC squads following the 2002-03 season.
