BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo men’s basketball team will host Detroit in the 2007 O’Reilly ESPNU BracketBusters on Saturday, February 17 at 7 pm. For the first time since they began playing in the event four years ago, the Bulls will be hosting a game.

The game will mark the third time in the past five years that the two teams have met. The teams most recently played last season in the Las Vegas Holiday Shootout with the Bulls taking the contest, 66-60. Detroit leads the all-time series, 9-4.

Detroit, a member of the Horizon League, is 8-13 overall and 4-5 in conference play. The Titans are led by Brandon Cotton who is averaging 18.2 points per game.

This is the fourth season that Buffalo is participating in the BracketBusters event. The Bulls defeated Indiana State, 64-51, at the Hulman Center in 2004.They downed Fresno State, 52-49, at the Save Mart Center in 2005. UB’s only loss in the event came last season at Iona.

The game will follow the women’s basketball game against nationally-ranked Bowling Green scheduled to tip-off at 5:00 pm.
