Idbihi Named MAC East Division Player of the Week

Junior forward earns award for second time this season

BUFFALO, NY - Yassin Idbihi (Tangier, Morocco/Schloss Hagerhof) was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week on Monday, marking the second time this season that he has garnered the award. The junior forward averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 block and 1.3 steals as the Bulls went 2-1 on the week.

He tallied 15 points and five rebounds at Bowling Green on Tuesday night to help lead the Bulls to their first ever win at Anderson Arena.

In the Bulls’ win over Ohio on Thursday night, Idbihi had one of his finest outings of the season as he scored 22 points and added six rebounds, four assists, two blocked shots and three steals.

Against Kent State on Sunday, Idbihi tallied a team-high 16 points and seven rebounds and added an assist.

The Bulls’ big man shot 70.4 percent from the floor, including 5-for-9 from beyond the arc for the week.

On the season, Idbihi leads the Bulls in rebounding (7.4 rpg) and ranks second in scoring (14.9 ppg). He is averaging 17.4 points and 7.2 rebounds over the last five games. He ranks fifth in the league in rebounding and seventh in scoring.

This is the second time this season that the Tangier, Morocco native has won the award. He also took home the honor on Nov. 28.
