BUFFALO, NY - Rasaun Young led a trio of double digit scorers with 15 points as the University at Buffalo defeated Northeastern Illinois, 79-64, on Sunday afternoon at Alumni Arena.

Freshman center Nikolai Alexeev added a career-high 13 points, five rebounds and three blocked shots for the Bulls who improved to 4-0 in the Mid-Continent Conference. Mike Martinho added 14 points for Buffalo (6-4), which broke a two-game losing streak.

The game was tied 47-47 with 13:24 remaining before the Bulls went on a 22-4 run to take a 69-51 lead with 7:17 left. Martinho scored 10 of his 14 points during this stretch while Jon Kleidon had all five of his points.

The Golden Eagles jumped to a 21-11 midway through the first half before going on a 13-1 run lead behind the play of Alexeev. The freshman from Belarus had seven points and three blocked shots during that span.

Freshman point guard Ryan Peterson also scored a career-high eight points, six assists and three steals while Robert Harris had nine points and nine rebounds for the Bulls.

Brad Bestor led the Golden Eagles with 21 points, including five three-pointers while Kaylon Coleman and Dale Baldowsky added 10 points each.
