Buffalo looks for first MAC win this week with two home games

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo men's basketball team dropped a pair of games on the road last week to remain winless in the Mid- American Conference. The Bulls will look to bounce back this week with home games against Eastern Michigan (Wednesday at 7:30 pm) and Kent (Saturday at 12 noon).

Buffalo dropped a 74-46 decision at Northern Illinois on Thursday night as they were outscored 51-22 in the second half after leading 24-23 at halftime. Louis Campbell (Rahway, NJ/Rahway) led the Bulls with nine points as the Bulls had no double figure scorers. Nate Johnson (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon) led the Bulls with nine rebounds while Will Campbell (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy) had seven points and four rebounds.

The Bulls then moved on to Kalamazoo, MI where they dropped an 82-65 decision to a hot-shooting Western Michigan squad. The Broncos shot 54% in the second half to hold off the Bulls who outscored WMU, 43-42, in the second half. Sophomore Nikolai Alexeev (Minsk, Belarus) led the Bulls with 17 points while Louis Campbell had 13 and Johnson a career-high 10 points. The Bulls were outrebounded by a 40-28 count in the game and lost their 11th straight.
