BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo men's basketball head coach Reggie Witherspoon has more to celebrate than the best start to a season in over 40 years. Witherspoon, who has served as the chairperson for the university-wide State Employee Federated Appeal (SEFA), announced on Friday that the university has hit its $900,000 goal – making it the largest SEFA campaign in UB history. As of Wednesday, more than $909,000 had been received.

“This is a tremendous accomplishment for the faculty and staff of the University at Buffalo," Witherspoon said. "At a time when our community and others around the country are in such great need, we came together to put a face on the gift of giving.”

Since 2000, UB has raised over $5 million to help change lives in the community through its annual SEFA campaign. UB is the leading state agency in the SEFA campaign, and is among the top five colleges and universities nationally in monies collected in employee charitable workplace campaigns. UB also leads the Western New York region in terms of monies contributed during the annual United Way campaign through SEFA.
