UB Staff Members Earn Promotions

Sue Rocque

Sue Rocque has been named Director of Sports Medicine. Rocque was named Head Athletic Trainer in 2001 after spending 13 seasons as an assistant athletic trainer at UB.

"Sue has done a tremendous job making sure all of our student-athletes receive the best medical care possible," said Manuel. "Injuries are a part of athletics, but Sue and her staff are some of the finest trainers in the nation."

Paul Vecchio

Paul Vecchio has moved up to Associate Athletic Director for Communications/Sports Administration. Vecchio had served as Assistant Athletic Director for Communications since 2000 and has been a member of the UB staff since 1995.

"Paul has continued to be given additional duties as a sports administrator and has made the department a better place with his efforts," said Manuel. "Paul also continues to oversee our Athletic Communications department as the Division of Athletics continues to get more national exposure."

Charlie Donnor is now the Associate Director of Development after serving as an assistant director in the same department. Donnor has been a fixture at UB for many years, including a stint as a member of the Buffalo football coaching staff.

"Charlie and the entire Development Office are tireless workers and have a great relationship with our donors," said Manuel. "Charlie works with the Blue and White Club, which is the backbone of our athletic department."

Irene Holohan-Moyer has moved to Associate Director of Academic Services. Holohan-Moyer has served for a few years in Academic Services, mentoring student-athletes.

"I have always found Academic Services to be one of the most important departments in any athletic department," said Manuel. "Irene and her staff have helped over 40% of our athletes become UB Scholar Athletes and six teams post over 3.0 GPAs last season."
