Donald Reed Named Associate Athletic Director for Academic Services
Over his seven-year stint at Iowa State, Reed was elevated from Director of Student-Athlete Services to Associate Athletic Director for Academic and Student Services. He directed and supervised all aspects of the academic support, personal development and career development for the Cyclones' Athletic Department. "Donald is a tremendous addition to our staff," Manuel said. "Academics are one of the most important aspects of an athletic department and I feel that under his leadership, our student-athletes will consistently reach the high standards we have set for their academic success." Prior to arriving at Iowa State, Reed spent two years as the Manager of Academic Development Programs at Arizona State University. He was the Academic Program Coordinator for Athletics at New Mexico State from 1991-1998. Reed is a 1986 graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing/Management. He earned a Master of Science in Kinesiology/Education and Sport Administration from North Texas in 1990. In 1999, Reed received his Doctor of Philosophy in Education Management and Development from New Mexico State University. He and his wife, Dana, have two children.
Reed will begin his new position at UB on August 6.
