Douglas Gnodtke Named Assistant Athletic Director
Most recently he served as the administrative services coordinator (2002-04) and administrative specialist (2005). During his tenure at Michigan, Gnodtke assisted in the administration of football, men’s and women’s basketball, hockey and strength and conditioning. He also assisted in the areas of Academic Services and Development and has assisted both the athletic director and associate athletic director on game contracts, strategic planning as well as the Michigan Athletic Hall of Honor. "We are excited to have Doug on staff," said Manuel. "I have known Doug for a long time and I believe he will be a tremendous asset to the UB Athletics family." A native of East Lansing, MI, Doug recently completed his MBA from the University of Michigan with an emphases in management and marketing. Gnodtke also received his Bachelor's degree from Michigan in sports management and communications. “I’m really looking forward to this opportunity,” said Gnodtke. “There is a great deal of interest in the entire program at Buffalo and that is what makes this position so appealing.”
Sharon Sanford, who has been a member of the athletic department since June 2002, was recently promoted to assistant athletic director for student services, where she has added the duty of sport supervisor for the Bulls' rowing and men's and women's swimming program. In addition, Sanford continues to oversee the coordinator of student-athlete services and student-athlete housing. "Sharon has shown a tremendous work ethic and by expanding her role with the department we believe she will continue to make outstanding contributions to our athletic program," said Manuel. |
