Work of UB Athletic Department Recognized at NACDA Convention

Buffalo earns three first-place and two third-place awards at annual workshop

BUFFALO, NY - The work of the University at Buffalo athletic department was recognized at the annual NACMA (National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators) workshop, held in conjunction with the NACDA (National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics) Convention at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL from June 13-16. Buffalo's marketing pieces were recognized in four categories, earning three first-place awards and two third-place awards.

Buffalo's 2002-03 basketball campaign and its 2002 football season ticket brochure both received top honors among all entries in their respective categories. Buffalo's 2002-03 men's basketball poster took another gold while its women's basketball poster won bronze. Buffalo's final award was another bronze in the football commercial category.

"I was delighted to learn that our athletics marketing team was recognized at the national level," said John Lambert, UB Associate Athletic Director of External Relations. "The Division of Athletics is very fortunate to be surrounded by a dedicated and highly-creative staff who is supported through the outstanding efforts of our University Publications team. In addition, the support received through Tonawanda-based firm Ent/Gates Productions has been invaluable in the development of our television spots."
