UB To Host Diving Championships

Zone A diving competition to determine representatives for NCAA meet

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo will play host to the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships on Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15 at the Alumni Arena Natatorium. Competition in one-meter, three-meter and platform diving will determine who will move on to the NCAA Championships later this month.

Approximately 60 divers representing Division I programs from throughout the Northeast are expected to compete in the three events. Five men's and four women's spots in the NCAA Championships will be filled in the three separate competitions.

"I am so pleased that the University at Buffalo has the opportunity, once again, to host this exciting Division I diving event," said UB women's diving coach Kara Sixbury, who has spearheaded the effort to bring the competition back to Buffalo. "I am eager to watch all of the talented divers in our zone battle it out for the limited number of spots to qualify for the big game, NCAA Division I Nationals. We look forward to running a smooth and efficient meet and seeing great competition."

Friday's competition begins at 1:00 pm. Saturday's events are scheduled for 11:00 am and 4:00 pm. Admission is free.

Results will be posted on the UB website, www.buffalobulls.com.
