Manuel Becomes Honorary Member of True Blue

The agreement that made this opportunity come to life was made between Manuel and the True Blue Fan Club. True Blue approached Manuel at a football game at the beginning of the 2007 season questioning how they could get him to agree to paint his head and participate in the student section. Manuel decided that if the UB football team won a MAC title he would agree to those terms. Once the football team earned a share of the MAC Division East title, True Blue decided to cash in on their agreement.

“Thanks to the tremendous support that our students, in particular, the True Blue group, have provided to our athletic teams this year, I was happy to join them – in a rather festive and unique look – as a way to say thanks for all they do,” said Manuel. “Their presence at our games inspires our student-athletes, and creates the college atmosphere that makes our events unique.”

True Blue – with their newest addition – helped cheer the Bulls on to a 95-82 win over Youngstown State.
