`BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo football team, and its head coach Turner Gill, will receive some public recognition for their championship season on Friday night with a couple of public appearances.

Coach Gill and special guests will be at the New Era Cap flagship store at 160 Delaware Avenue on Friday night from 5-7 pm to meet fans and sign autographs. Shortly after 5 pm, Buffalo mayor Byron Brown is expected to stop by the store and extend his personal congratulations to Coach Gill for the Bulls' MAC Championship and the team's first-ever trip to a bowl game. The event will be broadcast live on UB's flagship station, WECK-1230 AM, with Brad Riter doing a live remote from the location.

In addition, sets of International Bowl tickets will be raffled off throughout the night.

Coach Gill will be on hand at New Era Cap, makers of the Turner Gill "Sideline Collection," as the store sells Buffalo's MAC Championship and International Bowl hats for the first time publicly. Fans can also choose from a wide variety of UB and other team's hats at New Era Cap's signature store in Buffalo.

Later that night, Coach Gill, as well as Bulls' players Drew Willy, Mike Newton, James Starks and Naaman Roosevelt will be honored at the Buffalo Sabres game versus the Los Angeles Kings. They will be recognized at HSBC Arena during the game – which faces off at 7:30 pm – for their accomplishments this season.

The Bulls, 8-5 and winners of the MAC East and MAC Championship – by virtue of a 42-24 win over previously unbeaten and 12th-ranked Ball State – will play Connecticut in the International Bowl in Toronto's Rogers Centre on Saturday, January 3rd. Kickoff is 12 noon. Tickets for the first bowl game in Western New York's collegiate history can be purchased by going to www.buffalobulls.com or calling 1-877-UB-THERE.
