Trevor Scott Invited To Texas vs. The Nation All-Star Challenge

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo senior defensive end Trevor Scott (Potsdam, NY/Potsdam) has been invited to play in the second annual Texas vs. The Nation All-Star Challenge, which will be played on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas.

Scott, who was a senior co-captain for the Bulls this past season, is the first UB player to ever be invited to this game and he is just the fourth player ever chosen from the Mid-American Conference. This past season, Scott led the Bulls with 10 sacks and his 15 tackles for loss were second on the team. Scott's sack total was second in the Mid-American Conference, just 0.5 sacks behind the leader. Scott also finished as one of eight UB players to be named to the All-MAC Team - a school record.

"This is a great honor for Trevor and the University at Buffalo," said head coach Turner Gill. "When Trevor moved to defensive line two years ago, I knew he was going to be an outstanding talent and it is nice to see other people recognize that he has what it takes to play at the next level."

In just two seasons as a defensive end, Scott racked up 19 sacks, which is the third highest total in school history. He leads all active players nationally in sacks per game over his two-year career as a defensive end. He has recorded 19 sacks in 24 games (.79 per game), since being moved from tight end.

Senior center Jamey Richard (Weston, CT/Weston), who earlier this month accepted an invitation to play in the Hula Bowl, has also been invited to play in the Texas vs. The Nation All-Star Challenge.
