Cummings Earns MAC KudosBUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo junior linebacker Bryan Cummings (Cincinnati, OH/Madeira) became the fourth Bulls' football player to be honored by the Mid-American Conference this season. Cummings earned MAC East Division Special Teams Player of the Week honors for his efforts during Buffalo's 36-6 win over Central Michigan on Saturday at UB Stadium.
Cummings helped secure Buffalo's win with a second quarter blocked punt that was returned by teammate Gabe McClover (Fort Lauderdale, FL/Coconut Creek) for a touchdown, giving the Bulls a commanding 28-0 lead at halftime. The junior, who serves as one of four captains for the Bulls, also recorded six tackles, two for losses, and 1.5 sacks on defense as Buffalo limited the Chippewas to 56 yards rushing. Cummings ranks third on the team with 60 total tackles (34 solos) and ranks second on the
club with eight tackles for loss. He joins teammates
Aaron Sanders (Clarence, NY/St.
Joseph's), Ben Woods (Hermitage,
PA/Hickory) and James Evans (Irvington,
NJ/Irvington) as MAC Player of the Week honorees this season. |
