Forde, Singfield Honored By Mid-American

Forde earns MAC East Offensive Player of Week, while Singfield earns defensive honor

BUFFALO, NY - Seniors Andre Forde (Penfield, NY/Penfield) and Dahnel Singfield (Baltimore, MD/Dunbar) were both honored today by the Mid-American Conference for their performances during Buffalo's 34-11 victory at Rutgers of the BIG EAST on Saturday.

Forde was named the MAC East Division Offensive Player of the Week - after earning the MAC Special Teams Player of the Week last week - while Singfield earned MAC East Division Defensive Player of the Week.

Forde caught a career-high three touchdown passes from quarterback Randall Secky (Bemus Point, NY/Maple Grove) of 12, eight and four yards, and totalled 165 all-purpose yards in the game. He led Buffalo with five catches for 75 yards in the game. For the season, Forde has already scored four touchdowns and leads the Bulls with eight receptions for 142 yards (17.8 per catch). The senior is also currently leading the nation in punt return average through two games at 32.0 yards per return.

Forde is among the nation's top ten in two other categories as well. He ranks fourth in the nation in all-purpose yardage (209.50 per game) and ninth in the nation in scoring at 12.0 points per game.

Singfield, meanwhile, earned his player of the week kudos after setting a school record with five pass breakups and adding a crucial sack in the win over the Scarlet Knights. Singfield is playing his first season on defense after spending his first three years as a flanker. The play following his

third-quarter sack for a 15-yard loss, Rutgers snapped the ball out of the end zone on a punt attempt to give UB an 18-3 lead. UB's defense limited Rutgers to 221 yards of total offense.

Buffalo hosts Connecticut this Saturday at 7:30 pm at UB Stadium.
