BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo football team will participate in YMCA Camp Day on Friday, July 27 as head coach Turner Gill and seven players will go to three YMCAs in the area. The Delaware YMCA at 10:00 am, Ken-Ton YMCA at 11:00 am and the Niagara YMCA at 1:00 pm will all be visited as Gill and his players talk about the importance of a connection between the community and UB as well as to promote UB's upcoming 2007 football season. Gill and his players will begin the day at St. Leo's The Great RC Church at 9:00 am.

“This day is important because it gives our players an opportunity to know the community and the community the opportunity to get to know our players," said Gill. "The University at Buffalo represents the people of Buffalo and we hope to forge a bond between our staff, players and the people of this community.”

Joining Gill will be Trevor Scott (Potsdam, NY/Potsdam), Jamey Richard (Weston, CT/Weston), Naaman Roosevelt (Buffalo, NY/St. Joseph's), James Starks (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls), Drew Willy (Randolph, NJ/Randolph), Chris Callahan (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) and Ernest Jackson (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili).

Each child will receive a voucher to UB's home opener against Baylor on September 22, 2007, which begins at 6:00 pm.
