It all gets started on Friday night, August 23rd when Tops presents UB's third annual Rockin' Rally headlined by rock and roll chart-topper Pat Benatar at UB Stadium. The 2002 Bulls and head coach Jim Hofher will be introduced along with the UB marching band - "The Thunder of the East" - and the cheerleaders who will get the crowd revved up before Benatar takes to the stage with her numerous rock and roll classics. The night will end with a spectacular fireworks show. Tickets are free to all UB football season ticket holders and individual tickets can be purchased for $15 each. The show is being presented by Tops and co-sponsored by Star 102.5 and WKBW-TV, Channel 7.

The season opener versus Lehigh on Thursday, August 29th will again be an extravaganza of sights and sounds. World-renowned announcer Michael Buffer - of "Let's Get Ready to Rumble" fame - will introduce the 2002 UB Bulls before the game and at halftime will introduce "The Rocketman," who will soar above the UB Stadium crowd. In addition, post-game fireworks will light up the sky. The event is being sponsored by Star 102.5 and the Buffalo News.
