BUFFALO, NY – Former Buffalo Bills Quarterback Frank Reich will present the collegiate version of the Call to Courage Award to Clarence High School graduate and former UB football offensive lineman, Jonathan Burgio on Saturday, April 19th at 9 a.m. at the Buffalo Hyatt Regency Hotel downtown.

Burgio is being recognized for his leadership on and off the field, around the campus, and in the community. Recipients must not only be exemplary student athletes, but also have commendable character, commitment, and leadership on and off the field.

A three-year letterwinner on UB’s offensive line, Burgio saw action in all 12 games last year for the Bulls as they earned a share of the Mid-American Conference East Division title.

“Athletes in Action” is a campus wide ministry for athletes. This will be the organization’s seventh annual collegiate/professional award ceremony. However, for the first time in Western New York, AIA will also be presenting a high school athlete with this award.

The main presentation at the event will be the awarding of the 2008 Professional Call to Courage Award to two-time NFL MVP and Super Bowl MVP, Kurt Warner, quarterback of the Arizona Cardinals.

Tickets are $35 per person. For more information call 716-559-1800 or go to www.aiabuffalo.com.
