Starks, whose hometown is Niagara Falls, NY, became the first UB freshman to earn All-MAC honors in 2006. In 2007, he became Buffalo’s first Division I-A 1,000-yard rusher in a season that was capped with a second straight selection to the All-MAC Second Team. Starks’ 2008 season consisted of 272 attempts, 1,333 yards and 16 touchdowns. In his overall career he’s had 698 attempts, 3,140 yards, and 34 touchdowns.
Roosevelt, a Buffalo native, was originally recruited as a quarterback but has thrived as a wide receiver. He returned the first kick of his career for 94 yards and a touchdown at Bowling Green in 2006. It was the first kick returned for a touchdown by a UB player since 1989. During the 2007 season he was named preseason All-MAC Third Team by Phil Steele. Roosevelt’s 2008 season consisted of 104 receptions, 1,402 yards and 13 touchdowns.
