Football Adds Another Texan To Roster
Peden, a native of Houston, TX who starred at Langham Creek HS, becomes Buffalo's fifth player from the Lone Star state to sign this year and now brings the total number of Bulls from Texas to 10 that are expected at training camp in August. Peden, who played both defensive tackle and defensive end for the Lobos of coach Mac Woodfin, is expected to play defensive end for the Bulls. As a senior, Peden recorded 65 tackles, six sacks and three fumble recoveries while earning All-District honors for a second consecutive season. “Terry is a talented athlete who plays from snap to whistle every single play,” said Gill, the 2007 MAC Coach of the Year. “He is a relentless player who we are very excited to have join our program.” As a captain last year, the 6-1, 240-pound Peden helped his team to a second consecutive winning season. In addition to football, he has also lettered in track and field and basketball. Peden joins Darius Willis (Houston, TX/Dwight D. Eisenhower) and Ray Anthony Long (Houston, TX/Nimitz) as Houston natives joining the Bulls in 2008, and current redshirt freshman Alan Hayes (Houston, TX/Northland Christian). Peden's signing brings UB's 2008 recruiting class to 21 players. The Bulls, who gained a share of the MAC East Division title last
season, open the 2008 campaign at home against Texas El-Paso on August
28 at UB Stadium. |
