BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo football head coach Turner Gill has announced changes to his coaching staff. Tight ends and special teams coach Aaron Stamn is now the offensive line coach, replacing Allen Mogridge who was recently named to the staff at North Carolina. Joe Dailey, who served as the graduate assistant coach for the offense last season has been promoted to tight ends coach. In addition, Lee Chambers and Jarod Dodson will share special teams coaching responsibilities.

"We have an excellent coaching staff, with great chemistry within it, and I am confident that our team will benefit from these changes," Gill said. "I was saddened to see coach Mogridge go, but I am pleased that he is getting an opportunity to coach at his alma mater. He is a great person and we wish him all the best.

“Aaron is an outstanding coach and is ready for this challenge,” said Gill, “and I am very happy to be able to promote Joe to a full-time position. He is an extremely mature young man who is going to be a great coach.”

Stamn is entering his fourth season at Buffalo. He spent his first three seasons as tight ends and special teams coach. Under his guidance, the special teams flourished. In 2007, punter Ben Woods was named a finalist for the Ray Guy Award and finished his career as the school record holder in nearly every statistical category. Kicker A.J. Principe scored 84 points in 2008 to set a single-season school record.

Dailey just completed his first season as a graduate assistant for the offense, which rewrote UB’s record books in 2008 en route to a Mid-American Conference championship. For two seasons, Dailey played quarterback for Gill at Nebraska before finishing his career at North Carolina as a quarterback and wide receiver.

Chambers and Dodson will add special teams coordinator duties to their responsibilities. Chambers is entering his third season as running backs coach. He has aided in the development of All-MAC running back James Starks who has recorded back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons. Starks set the single-season school record for rushing with 1,333 yards in 2008.

Dodson was recently added to the staff to coach the cornerbacks. He comes to Buffalo after serving as defensive coordinator at South Dakota in 2008 in his fifth year on the Coyote staff.
