UB Sets School Attendance Record at International Bowl Buffalo sells all of its 10,000 allotment; tickets still available through Ticketmaster.ca
The first-ever appearance by the Bulls in a bowl game has led to unprecedented success in the three-year history of the International Bowl. Early this week the UB ticket office sold the last of its 10,000 ticket allotment, smashing the International Bowl record in the process. Fans still looking to come to Toronto can still purchase tickets through Ticketmaster as well as by going to the International Bowl's website – www.internationalbowl.org. Plenty of good seats around the Rogers Centre remain for the game which kicks off at noon and will be televised live on ESPN2. “The response by our fans, students and the Western New York community has been tremendous and we look forward to an electric atmosphere for our football team to play their first bowl game in on Saturday,” said Warde Manuel, UB's Director of Athletics. “We know how much Buffalo fans can impact a football game, and we anticipate our fans showcasing Buffalo pride on national television.” Buffalo's contingent includes a grand total of 10,500 tickets sold to date, eclipsing the previous record set by Rutgers in last year's game. “We are excited to see the response that Buffalo has had to the game and look forward to a great atmosphere in Rogers Centre,” said Ken Hoffman, Executive Director of the International Bowl. “Their efforts have set a new standard for future games. Excitement in the greater Toronto area is also high for the game and we are thrilled to have a compelling matchup between two excellent programs in Connecticut and Buffalo.” The game marks Buffalo's first-ever appearance in a bowl game and pits the 8-5 Mid-American Conference champion Bulls against the 7-5 Huskies of Connecticut.
