UB Football Team to be Featured on ABC World News
Story is scheduled to air on Friday at 6:30 pm on ABC
BUFFALO, NY - On the eve of the University at Buffalo’s first bowl game, the team will be the subject of a feature on ABC World News with Charles Gibson. The show will air on Friday, January 2 at 6:30 pm.
Reporter Bob Woodruff was in town recently to speak with head coach Turner Gill and current UB football players as well as members of the 1958 team.
Buffalo will play Connecticut in the International Bowl on Saturday at noon in Toronto. It is the first bowl appearance in school history for the Bulls. The 1958 UB football team was invited to play in the Tangerine Bowl, but turned down the invitation when it learned that two of its African American players would not be allowed to participate.
