Joe Dailey has been promoted to tight ends coach after spending last season as the Bulls’ offensive graduate assistant. As the offensive graduate assistant, Dailey helped oversee an offense that scored a school-record 424 points. Quarterback Drew Willy threw for a school-record 3,304 yards and 25 touchdowns, running back James Starks ran for a school-record 1,333 yards and 16 touchdowns and wideout Naaman Roosevelt established school records of 104 receptions, 1,402 yards and 13 touchdowns. Dailey is familiar with Turner Gill’s offense as he played quarterback under Gill at Nebraska in 2003 and 2004 before finishing his career at North Carolina. While at Nebraska, he was the Huskers’ starter in 2004 and was twice named to the Big 12 Academic Honor Roll. He was also a two-time selection to the Brooks Berringer Citizen Team. He spent his final three years at North Carolina where he played both quarterback and wide receiver. He was named to the All-ACC Academic Football Team in 2006 and 2007. He earned the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholarship Award as well as the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society Award in 2007. |
