Shooter's Roundup
Indoor 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament
Rules and Regulations
- A field goal is worth 1 point
- A successful field goal from behind the ‘take back line’ (college 3-point line) is worth 2 points. The player shooting must have both feet completely behind the line when initiating the attempt.
- Foul language, flagrant fouls, general unsportsmanship and most of all, fighting, will not be tolerated. Therefore:
- A technical foul shot is worth 1 point and loss of possession. Two (2) technical fouls on any player will result in immediate ejection from the game for that player.
- An intentional fouls on a shot without a legitimate play on the ball will result in free throw.
- A flagrant foul will result in ejection from game for that player and loss of possession.
- Fighting, even throwing a punch or pushing a player will result in immediate ejection of player(s) from tournament and loss of possession.
- Games will be played to 20 points or 25 minutes, whichever comes first! There is no win-by-2-rule. The highest score of any game is 20 points.
- The only exceptions to scoring rule 4 is: all games in the 16-under divisions - male and female - will be played to 15 points or 25 minutes, whichever comes first.
- No dunking is allowed in warmups or in games. A technical foul will be assessed and a point will be awarded to the opposing team.
- There is NO ‘make-it-take-it’ rule. Possession changes after each basket.
- Basketball must be returned to the ‘take-back’ line after EVERY change of possession. The ‘take-back’ line is the college 3-point goal arc.
- Rule modification: On a restart at the 'take-back' line a player cannot be guarded over that line until he/she has passed out the basketball.
- Basketball is CHECKED AND PASSED OUT after each basket or dead ball.
- In case of a tie at the end of regulation, first basket wins. A coin flip determines possession.
- Officials will have the final say on any disputes. There is no appeal process.
- Players cannot nominate opposing players for age verification. Age verifications are done at random and are at the complete discretion of Shooter’s Roundup officials and staff.
- Schedule of games is FINAL; we cannot honor any time requests for games.
- Bring your own basketballs for warmups and games. Due to enormous theft over the past few years, UB Athletics will NOT provide any basketballs! Gameball must be approved by both teams prior to start of game.
- We retain the right to excuse any team.
