Buffalo, again, victorious at second and last home meetThe Buffalo Men's harriers win their second meet of the season in as many meets. This time lead by Sophomore Tony David who finished first overall in a school record time on the course at 26:04. Co-Captain Junior Pat Nolan finished just behind in a time of 26:07, also breaking the old school record of 26:25. Rounding off the Bulls scoring was Freshman Chris Angier, Junior Richard Skrabucha, and Senior Co-Captain Sam Burroughs. The Men teamed together to defeat Interstate rivals Cornell, Syracuse, and Colgate. Team Scores: Buffalo 30, Cornell 50, Syracuse 60, and Colgate 86.
The Women's team also won at home this week in spite of a serious challenge by Cornell. With just 1000 meters left in the race, the score was all tied up. Fast closing Junior Co-Captain Jen Folckemer and Junior Marie Macander made the difference needed to win over the Big Reds. Buffalo also defeated Colgate and Syracuse in the process. Other top scorers for UB were Freshman Lisa Luce, Junior Laura Folckemer, and Sophomore Eileen Rose. Team Scores: Buffalo 35, Cornell 47, Colgate 62, and Syracuse 88.
Buffalo will split teams this week and compete in Canada at Western Ontario Invite as well as Rochester at St. Johns Fisher Invite. |
