UB Women, Men Win Cross Country Season OpenerBUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's and men's cross country squads posted wins as they kicked off the 1999 campaign at their newly redesigned North Campus course against the University at Albany this morning. The Bulls captured both first and third places in the women's and men's races. Senior Marie Macander (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) crossed the finish line first at 18:50.6 in the women's 5,000 meter race while junior Eileen Rose (Latham, NY/Shaker ) placed third with a time of 19:17.7. Junior Tony David (Lima, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) captured the men's race at the 25:56.5 mark. Freshman Todd Ludden (Hornell, NY/Hornell) placed third at 27:11.4. Coach Dick Barry's squad returns to action next Friday (9/17) as they travel to take on Mid-American Conference opponent Kent State University. |
