BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo placed nine cross country athletes on the Mid-American Conference's 2000 Honor Roll, it was announced by the league office.

Among the nine honorees are six men's athletes and three women's athletes. A complete list of honorees along with their hometown, high school, academic class, GPA, and academic major appear below.

Student-athletes must obtain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher and earn a letter for the current season to be eligible for the honor. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible as student-athletes must have attended that institution for an entire year.

Both squads recently completed their 2000 seasons. The men's squad placed tenth in a 12-team field and the women were 11th out of 13 at the MAC Championships in Kalamazoo, MI. The indoor track and field teams, of which UB cross country runners are also members of, opened their season last weekend with victories at the Katie Almeter Memorial Colgate Invitational.
