Bulls Complete Season at Northeast RegionalsBRONX, NY - The University at Buffalo men's and women's cross country squads completed their 2000 seasons Saturday at the NCAA Northeast Cross Country Regional Championships. The Bulls' women finished 15th in a 36-team field with 482 points. The UB men placed 27th in the 34-team competition with 747 points. Boston College won the women's title with 47 points while Providence took the men's crown with 27 points. UB's were led by Melissa Burrows (Norwood, NY/Norwood-Norfolk) who finished 81st individually out of 229 runners in 22:37.5. Eileen Rose (Latham, NY/Shaker) was 88th in 22:47.1 and Danielle Morrell (Oswego, NY/G. Ray Bodley) took 94th in 23:02.4 to round out the top three Bulls' finishers. Boston College's Megan Guiney won the women's six kilometer competition in 20:26.1. For the men, Todd Ludden (Hornell, NY/Hornell) was the Bulls' top finisher in 33:48.2 along the 10 kilometer course. Rick Stewart (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) was 110th in 33:53.0. Providence's Keith Kelly won the race in 30:33.2. With the conclusion of the cross country schedule, the Bulls now prepare for the indoor track
and field season beginning December 2 at the Colgate Invitational.
