Cross Country Weekly Release 11/1/99Current record -Women 3-1, Men 2-2UB Takes Part in Second MAC Championship The Bulls competed in their second MAC Championship over the weekend (10/30) as Kent hosted the event. The women's squad placed 11th out of 13 squads with 280 points while the men finished ninth out of a field of 12 with 233 points. Akron was crowned the women's MAC Champion (78 pts.) while Central Michigan got top honors for the men (37 pts.). Junior Eileen Rose (Latham, NY/Shaker) continued her consistent performance as she was Buffalo's top finisher in the women's 5,000 meter race and placed 39th overall with a time of 18:37.4. Once again, junior Tony David (Lima, NY, Honeoye Falls-Lima) led the Bulls charge in the men's 8,000 meter race as he crossed the finish line ninth at 25:11.50 out of a field of 91 runners. Tony David Gets MAC Kudos Junior standout Tony David was one of six male runners named to the All-MAC Second Team after the MAC Championships.
Next Stop, NCAA Qualifier Coach Dick Barry will now prepare his top seven female and top seven male runners to compete in the NCAA Qualifier to be held on November 15 in Boston, MA. |
