McKenna, Jezorski Earn All-MAC Honors
"He made the rest of the field run an honest race," said head coach Vicki Mitchell. "He did what he had to do."
"Jen Jezorski should be very pleased with her finish," said Mitchell. The top seven finishers earned first-team All-MAC honors while the next seven were awarded second-team All-MAC recognition. Previously, the top 12 runners earned All-MAC, but the number was increased to 14 to reflect the seven racers each team could enter in the meet for scoring purposes.
Remainders of Field Finish Strong Following McKenna, the next four Bulls crossed the finish line in the top half of the pack to give UB its 137-point total. Andy Leonard (Spencerport, NY/Churchville-Chili) placed 23rd to finish second across the line for the Bulls in 25:55. Dan Giza (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) was 27th in 26:06. Dan Healy (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) was 37th in a season-best 26:27 and Paul Riley (Buffalo, NY/Canisius) rounded out UB's scorers with a 26:45 clocking to place 45th. In the women's race, Alexsandra Bykowska (Poznan, Poland/Third High School in Poznan) was the second UB finisher in 18:51 to place 32nd overall. Kate Kohout (Clarence, NY/Clarence) was 53rd in 19:15. Kelli O'Brien (Clifton Springs/Manchester-Shortsville) took 55th in a season-best 19:17 with Mary Veith (Derby, NY/Lake Shore) placing 63rd in 19:31.
