Cross Country Weekly ReleaseClick here for a PDF version of the release Bulls Prep for MACs at Reif Invitational The University at Buffalo cross country teams completed their regular season in Ithaca at Cornell's Reif Memorial Invitational. There was no team scoring in the meet that also included Syracuse, Cortland State and Ithaca as well as the Bulls and the host Big Red. Due to torrential rains the night before, much of the racecourse was flooded prompting a modification of the course. Many of UB’s top runners sat out the race. Leonard Leads Men’s Contingent
Kohout Tops Women’s Field
Bulls Host MAC Championships With the regular season now completed the Bulls turn their focus to the Mid-American Conference Championships. The competitions, the first time that UB has hosted the event, will be held Saturday, October 28 at Beaver Island State Park on Grand Island. The men's race is slated to begin at 11:00 am with the women's championship starting at 12:00 pm. All 12 MAC schools will be present for the women’s competition. Nine schools will comprise the men’s field with Ball State, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan fielding only women’s cross country programs. At last season’s championship meet, held in DeKalb, IL, the Eastern Michigan men won their 15th league title while Akron’s women claimed their second crown. UB’s men finished seventh at last season’s meet with the women placing ninth. Dan McKenna (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) earned first-team All-MAC honors while Jen Jezorski picked up a second-team nod among the women.
