BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo held its annual UB Invitational Friday afternoon at Baird Point on the North Campus. UB's women's team cruised to victory, scoring 15 points (the lowest possible team score) and defeating squads from Brock University of Canada (50) and Medaille (75) to take the competition. The men's race was not contested due to lack of entrants from opposing schools.

UB claimed the top eight spots in the 26-runner race. Melissa Burrows (Norwood, NY/Norwood-Norfolk) led the Bulls, conquering the five-kilometer course in 19:21.4. Also crossing the finish line in under 20 minutes for the Bulls were Jessica Moldovan (Warren, PA/Warren Area) in 19:26.4, Jenny Koeppel (Snyder, NY/Amherst) in 19:40.1 and Christina Keck (Erie, PA/McDowell) in 19:58.9. Originally scheduled to run at the meet, the Bulls men's team will travel to the Albany Invitational for a Saturday meet at 11:00 am. Both squads race in the Mid-American Conference Championships at Eastern Michigan on October 27.
