Cross Country Weekly ReleaseUB hit the road and went to Lehigh, PA to take part in the 26th Lehigh University Paul Short Run on Saturday (10/9). Over 30 schools from around the country particpated in the event. The women placed 16th (512 points) while the men finished 24th (627 points). Georgetown won the women's race with 39 points and James Madison took top honors in the men's race with 37 points. Newcomers led the way for the UB Bulls. Freshman Melissa Burrows (Norwood, NY/Norwood-Norfolk) crossed the line first for Buffalo at 19:08.11 for a 65th-place finish out of 212 runners in the women's 5,000 meter race. Freshman Rick Stewart (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) was the top-finisher in the men's race as he placed 77th out of a field of 201 (26:09.05). |
