LEHIGH, PA - The University at Buffalo men's and women's cross country teams turned in strong races at the 28th Annual Lehigh University Paul Short Run on Saturday. The Bulls' men finished tenth among 39 schools with 310 points while UB's women placed 16th among the 39-team field with 481 points. Penn State won both the men's and women's titles with 66 and 109 points respectively.

Todd Ludden

Individually, UB's Todd Ludden (Hornell, NY/Hornell) led the Bulls with his 18th place finish among the 274 men's runners. Ludden finished the eight kilometer course in a season-best time of 25:15.29. Ludden has been UB's top finisher in its three meets this season. Jerimie Slick (Rochester, NY/Greece-Athena) was the Bulls' next finisher in 38th place in 25:41.47. Connecticut's Daniel Wilson won the race in 24:19.33.

In the women's race, contested at six kilometers, rather than the typical five, Melissa Burrows (Norwood, NY/Norwood-Norfolk) finished 47th among 269 runners in 22:28.48. Jessica Moldovan (Warren, PA/Warren Area) was 94th in 23:03.17. Rhode Island's Erin Silvering won the women's individual title in 21:08.00.

The Bulls host the annual UB Invitational on Friday, October 12 beginning at 4:00 p.m.
