The Top Newcomer Award is presented to the individual student-athlete who distinguishes herself as the most talented new player on the team or the individual who accomplishes the greatest achievements as a first-year player. Soblosky, a transfer from Iona, raced in all seven meets for the Bulls in 2007. She made her presence known at the season-opening meet, Akron's Tommy Evans Invitational, when she placed 10th overall and was UB's top finisher. She also had a fourth-place finish among 191 runners at the Bowling Green Falcon Invitational, posting her fastest 5K time of the season (18:02.67). She finished fifth at the UB Invitational. Soblosky just missed earning All-Mid-American Conference honors as she finished 15th at the league meet in 18:16.8. The top 14 finishers earn All-MAC awards.

Veith earned All-MAC honors for the second straight season with her third-place finish among 104 runners representing all 12 MAC women’s programs at the league championships.
