BUFFALO, NY ­ The University at Buffalo placed ten cross country athletes on the Mid-American Conference's 2001 Honor Roll, it was announced by the league office.

Among the ten honorees are six men's athletes and four women's athletes. A complete list of honorees along with their hometown, high school, academic class, GPA, and academic major appear below.

Student-athletes must obtain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher and earn a letter for the current season to be eligible for the honor. Student-athletes who earn a 3.25 GPA or higher and participate in at least 50 percent of competitions are named to the Academic All-MAC team. Those individuals are listed in italics below. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible as student-athletes must have attended that institution for an entire year.

Both squads recently completed their 2001 seasons. The men's squad was 6-1 overall, 1-1 in the MAC and placed fifth in a 12-team field at the MAC Championships. UB's women were 8-3 overall, 0-2 in league competition and finished 11th out of 13 at the MAC Championships.
