Bulls Conclude Fall At Foot Of The Charles

Varsity Eight boat finishes in fourth

BOSTON, MA - The University at Buffalo rowing team concluded its fall season at the Foot of the Charles on Saturday afternoon. The Bulls had six boats compete including four Varsity Four boats, a Varsity Eight boat and a Novice Eight boat. UB’s Varsity Eight boat finished fourth of nine.

The Varsity Eight boat, which consisted of coxswain Tarynn Weightman (Niagara Falls, Ontario/St. Paul), Lindsay DiCosimo (Niagara Falls, Ontario/St. Paul), Megan Bayley (St. Catharines, Ontario/Governor Simcoe), Jacklyn Postulka (Waterford, NY/Shenendehowa), Shenita McLean (Buffalo, NY/Leonardo DaVinci), Patricia Arcuri (Niagara Falls, Ontario/St. Paul), Brittany Ronald (St. Catharines, Ontario/Sir Winston Churchill), Kelsey Tretter (Rochester, NY/Brighton) and Ewelina Kotowska (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) finished in fourth place with a final time of 14:21.5, which was just three seconds behind Syracuse that finished in third. Brown and Boston University finished first and second in the race, respectively.

In the Varsity Four race the Bulls had four of the 58 entries with their “A” boat coming in 13th place. The boat of coxswain Britt Marshall (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda), Kate Garofalo (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool), Cathleen Streicher (West Seneca, NY/Sacred Heart Academy), Tara Rudkoski (Merrick, NY/Calhoun) and Melina DiCosimo (Niagara Falls, Ontario/St. Paul) finished with a final time of 14:57.1. Brown took the race at a time of 14:15.5. The Bulls also had boats finish in 25th, 37th, and 43rd place in that race. Also competing was UB’s Novice Eight boat, which finished 12th of 33 boats.

The Bulls will now be off until their spring season begins in March.
