Bulls Complete Fall Season At Syracuse Invitational

In the varsity eight race, the Buffalo “A” crew of coxswain Sheralyn Briggs (St. Catherines, Ontario/West Park) and rowers Morgan Witte (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker), Cathleen Streicher (West Seneca, NY/Sacred Heart), Lauren Sexton (Niagara Falls, NY/St. Paul), Bridget Yannes (Edgewater Park, NJ/Holy Cross), Tara Rudkowski (Merrick, NY/Calhoun), Melina DiCosimo (Niagara Falls, Ontario/St. Paul), Alana Sharpe (St. Catherines, Ontario/Governor Simcoe) and Kelsey Tretter (Rochester, NY/Brighton) finished third of 13 crews with a time of 17:22.5. The Bulls finished just behind the top boats from Syracuse, who won the race in 17:10.7, and Cornell, who finished in 17:12.5. The Buffalo “B” boat finished in sixth place at 18:17.8 and the Buffalo “C” boat finished in eighth place at 18:38.6. The Buffalo “D” boat finished in 19:09.6.

In the varsity four “A” flight, the Buffalo “B” boat finished in third place in 19:39.4 as it was comprised of coxswain Margaret Devendorf (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) and rowers Kelsey Tretter (Rochester, NY/Brighton), Rudkowski, DiCosimo and Sharpe. The Boat finished just under two seconds ahead of the Buffalo “A” boat, which finished in 19:41.2. In the varsity four “B” flight, the Buffalo “D” boat finished in 20:03.1 for fourth place, while the other three boats took places six through eight.

In the novice eight race, the Buffalo “A” boat finished in third with a time of 19:02.4. That boat was made up of Lynch, who was the coxswain, and rowers Patricia Arcuri (Niagara Falls, Ontario/St. Paul), Megan Bayley (St. Catherines, Ontario/Governor Simcoe), Steine, Hanhurst, Lindsay DiCosimo (Niagara Falls, Ontario/St. Paul), Sasha Bailey (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) and Podbielski. The Buffalo “B” boat finished in sixth place at 19:57.3 and the Buffalo “C” boat finished in 20:29.5.

The Bulls have now wrapped up their fall season and will begin spring training in Oak Ridge, Tennessee in March.
