UB Crew Competes in Dad Vail Regatta
BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo was one of ninety-seven schools to enjoy the excellent water conditions and weather while competing in the prestigious Dad Vail Regatta held in Philadelphia, PA on May 12th and 13th.
The novice four comprised of Molly Beck (Buffalo, NY/Buffalo Seminary), Melissa Warhol (Buffalo, NY/Nardin), Sarah Vieira (Wayne, NJ/DePaul Diocesan), Victoria Kolomiets (Albany, NY/Guilderland) and coxswain Tina LaFountain (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills) put in the best showing for UB as they finished first in their heat of six crews (8th overall out of a field of 36) with a time of 7:49.14. The novice four advanced to the semifinals where they placed third (7:46.76).
The women's lightweight eight placed fifth out of six crews in their heat
(7th overall out of 10) with a time of 7:06.51, while the varsity four advanced
to the semifinals where they finished fifth out of six crews in their heat.
